Cockatoo - Zeze - Extra Large - Adult - Male - Bird
Zeus (aka ZeZe) is a large male Moluccan Cockatoo. He is about 9 years old, and that is just a baby in Cockatoo years. ZeZe has come a long way since arriving here. He is a very sweet boy, who just wants to be with his person. Hopefully, he will find his special someone now that he has calmed down and is a social 'Too. ZeZe has been at several events and has been a real photo opportunity. He will sit on almost anyone’s arm for a picture.
Confidence is the key to his heart. If ZeZe feels safe and his person is there to “protect” him, he is the perfect bird. This is an active boy who needs lots of things to destroy – cardboard boxes, wooden dowels, 2x4s, and toys. We are looking for someone who knows how much work it is to be this guy's best friend and lifelong caretaker. ZeZe loves to cuddle, but you need to be able to read Cockatoo body language to know his real mood. He can become over-simulated, and then he needs to go back to his cage to calm down. Music and dancing are two of ZeZe's favorite things that can over-stimulate.
If you get out of his sight he will scream for you. (Cockatoos have very loud and shrill voices.) He likes his baths in the tub with a light spray. ZeZe is a good eater – he loves fruits and veggies and most people food. He sleeps through the night. His foster mom doesn't cover his cage, because he will destroy whatever you cover it with. He sleeps until she gets up. He may holler a bit but if she is not ready to get up he will hush up. He is such a good boy.
